It's always great to run across a tool or app that makes life easier. I want to share a tool that I think is worth checking out.
Have you ever needed to convert a file to a different file type?
Maybe you have had a .png image file, but the application you are working with only accepts a .jpeg image file. How do you convert the file to a file type you can actually use?
I can't count the number of times I have needed to convert a .mov file to a .mp4 file. Now there is a way online to convert files, and it is free.
What's the catch?
- Large files - it does cost if you are converting large files over 100 mb.
- Ad-Supported - there are ads on the site. Big deal, huh?
Zamzar is a simple ad-supported website that allows you to upload a file and specify what format you need it to be converted to.
The file is convert in the background, and they will send you an email message to let you know when your converted file is ready for download.
